modern agricultural practices are blamed for the decline in arable flora. Plantlife (pdf) claim that 54 species of arable plant are rare or threatened.

I spent a short time in a poppy field in Falmer outside of Brighton and spotted a number arable plants, such as dense-flowered fumitory, corn marigold, field pansy and field forget-me-not.
